Lloyd Norton Nelson was born in St. Ansgar, Iowa, September 24, 1907. He was baptized in the N.L. church by Rev. Waldeland on November 6 of the same year. He was the youngest son of Seaver and Emma Nelson.
Lloyd was a healthy and happy boy until he grew to about seven years of age when, on August 18, 1914, he was stricken with an incurable disease which his parents have tried by every means to help him overcome, but none were successful.
Lloyd started to school when eight years of age and attended until he was compelled to discontinue on account of his sickness. He was a very bright lad in his studies and at home was always willing to lend a helping hand when able to.
Lloyd had a happy disposition, always had a smile for everyone, no matter what pain he bore. Always planning, he was, for the future when he would be able to do some good for some one else.
He started to fail about two weeks ago, gradually getting worse, until on Wednesday morning at 6:15 he passed away.
He leaves to mourn his loss his parents, three brothers, Ernest, Alvin, and Stanley, and three sisters, Selma, Laurene and Olga, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, June 16th, at the First Lutheran church, the pastor, Rev. Olaf A. Langehough, officiating. Interment was in the First Lutheran cemetery just north of town.
Date of Death June 13, 1928
