RITES HELD FOR ARTHUR SCHMIDT

Funeral rites for a Osage man, Arthur Schmidt, 80, were held October 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Mr. Schmidt died October 18, at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. The Reverend Kit Belk, pastor, was in charge of the rites and arrangements were by C. R. Champion and Sons. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery.

Arthur Julius William Schmidt was born in Worth County December 12, 1899, the son of Alfred and Elizabeth Schilling Schmidt. His marriage to Myrtle Tabbert took place January 30, 1927. He was a farmer and also worked for 28 years for the REC in St. Ansgar.

Surviving are his wife Myrtle; one daughter Lucille, Mrs. Richard Levers of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Harvey Felton (Elsie) and Mrs. Herman Rekow (Evelyn) of Osage.

Preceding him in death were one son, Luther, and an infant daughter, his parents, three brothers and four sisters.
