Funeral services were held for Clara Borchardt, 85, formerly of Grafton, Iowa, on Friday, October 18, 1985 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa. Mrs. Borchardt died on Tuesday, October 15, 1985, at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. Rev. Richard Zellmer officiated, and burial was in the church cemetery.
She was born on October 11, 1900, the daughter of Carl and Lydia (Trachte) Wilde, in Rock Township. On November 30, 1922, she and Emil Borchardt were married at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rock Township. The couple farmed near Plymouth for 35 years until they retired in 1957. They then moved to Grafton. Mrs. Borchardt lived there until 1982 when she moved to the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant sister; and one grandson.
Survivors inlcude a son, Reuben of rural Plymouth; a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Irene) Ward of Plymouth; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence Wilde of St. Ansgar.
