RECKNER, Alfred J. 1907-1986
Funeral services for Alfred Joseph Lewis Reckner, 79, were held on Sunday, September 7, 1986 in St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Riceville with the Rev. Robert Pfeil officiating. Mr. Reckner passed away at home on Thursday, September 4, 1986, from an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Reckner was born on August 3, 1907, the son of Ephriam and Mary Reckner. He was born and passed away on the same farm in Howard county. He was a farmer by occupation and attended the rural schools in Howard county.
He is survived by two brothers, Harry Reckner, Osage, Iowa, and Richard Reckner, Riceville; two sisters, Lillian Hobert, Rockford, Iowa, and Mary Carpenter, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Louise Kapka, and Violet, in infancy; and two brothers, Raymond and Ephriam.
Interment was in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemtery with the Conway Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
