RITES FOR McNAMARA, 70,
MITCHELL COUNTY EARLY SETTLER,
HELD

NORA SPRINGS, IOWA, Dec. 16 – Funeral services for Hiram Oscar McNamara, 70, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Martin Sheckler Funeral Home with the Rev. M. S. Bredow, pastor of the Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in the Mitchell Cemetery.

Mr. McNamara was born August 11, 1862 in Mitchell County where he grew to manhood. He spent the greater part of his life in Mitchell County farming. He was one of the early settlers of the county.

About two weeks ago he became ill at the home of his old friend, Will Tibbets, Sr. Pneumonia and complications caused his death.

He is survived by three sons, George; Gerald and Ellsworth, all of Nora Springs; two daughters; Mrs. J. A. Morgan of St. Paul; and Mrs. William Stohr of Nora Springs and 17 grandchildren.

H. McNamara -- no dates…theres a tombstone on his memorial but doesn’t have any dates either.
