Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 20, 1985, for Mrs. Esther Wamstad, 78, of Osage, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage. The Rev. Joseph B. Nesheim and Rev. Dennis Hanson officiated with burial in the Osage City Cemetery. She died on Thursday, July 18, 1985, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
She was born on March 9, 1907 on a farm near Otranto, the daughter of Emil G. and Matilda (Ask) Nelson. She attended Otranto Consolidated Schools.
On February 20, 1935, she married Thorstein Wamstad. The couple farmed near Nora Springs for 17 years, then moved to a farm south of Lyle, Minnesota. They farmed there until retiring in 1978 to Osage.
She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband Thorstein "Tom" of Osage; one brother, Earl Nelson of Mason City; three sisters, Mrs. Knut (Lula) Gunderson of Stewartville, Minnesota, Mrs. Morris (Minerva) Hanson of Mason City, and Mrs. Roy (Laura) Witt of Osage; and several nieces and nephews.
