Wayne Summer

Wayne J. Summer, 54, of Floyd, who worked 31 years as a controller at White Farm Equipment Co. in Charles City, died Tuesday, February 12 at a Mason City Hospital.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City, with the Rev. Edward Shields officiating. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery. Hauser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Summer was born June 1, 1930, in Mitchell County, the son of Elemo and Christine (Hendrickson) Summer. He was a graduate of McIntire High School, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict, and was married to Darlene Rasmussen on June 29, 1955, at McIntire. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge, White Farm Management Association and Rockford Country Club.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene; two sons, Dennis of Council Bluffs, and Steve, Mason City; two daughters, Mrs. Bryce (Kathy) Gast, Osage, and Mrs. Nick (Cheryl) Cagley, Floyd; nine grandchildren; and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Elemo Summer, McIntire.
