Aloysius “Al” Adams 1907-1984

Al Adams, 76, a house painter and decorator who lived in the Lake View area, died Tuesday in Barr Pavilion of Illinois Masonic Hospital.
Mr. Adams was a founder of Diversey Food Pantry, a church-supported agency that provided food to the needy.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Lucy; two sons, James and Michael; two daughters, Jane Benson and Ann Moeller; and 23 grandchildren.
Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wellington and Southport Avenues.

#2:Aloysius Adams was born August 5, 1907 in Mitchell County, Iowa, the son of Michael Adams and Anna (Faas) Adams. He married Lucy Josephine Thome, the daughter of Josephine Thome and Mary (Hagedorn) Thome.
He was buried in the Visitation Cemetery, Stacyville, Mitchell, Iowa.

Funeral services for Al Adams, 76, of Chicago, and formerly of Stacyville, were held on Saturday, June 16, at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, Iowa. Rev. C. Manternach officiated, with burial in the Visitation Cemetery. He died on Monday, June 11, in Chicago.
Born in Stacyville, Adams lived in Chicago most of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy of Chicago; two daughters, Jane Benson and Anne Moeller both of Chicago; two sons, James and Michael both of Chicago; 12 grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Clara Adams and Mrs. Caroline Adams, both of Stacyville.
