Mitchell county's resident, Miss Elizabeth Foreman, 95, died at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, March 11, 1953, after having been in failing health for some time.

Funeral services were held at the family home at 321 North Seventh street in Osage Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery. The Rev. O. Mellquist was in charge of the last rites.

Miss Foreman was born in Osage on September 26, 1857, to Cyrus and Sarah Bishop Foreman. To this union were born four children, two of whom died in early life. Miss Foreman's sister, Grace Foreman Paige, died in 1940.

Miss Foreman moved into the home 85 years ago and had lived there ever since. The home, one of the oldest in the city, was originally built by Judge Arad Hitchcock. She was a charter member of the local chapter of the PEO lodge and the oldest living member at the time of her death.

At the time of her death she had been a member of the Baptist church for 75 years. Her father was active in church affairs when the church was built. He was also one of the commissioners who planned and executed the building of the Iowa state capitol at Des Moines.

Miss Foreman attended the Osage schools and also was a student at a Des Moines business college.

Her only close surviving relative is a niece, Mrs. R. L. Whitley of Osage.

Miss Foreman will her home to the Osage independent school district to be used by teachers in the school system. The building will be known as the Foreman Library and will be administered by the superintendent of schools. The Baptist Church also received two bequests of $5,000 each. The residue, aside from a few small bequests, will be divided between the Northwestern Baptist Hospital of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Sioux Falls College, Sioux Falls, So. Dak, a Baptist institution.
