Velma E. Lebow - ca.1914-1985

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, September 11, 1985, at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage, for Velma E. Lebow, 71. She died on Sunday, September 8, 1985, of a heart attack. The Rev. Kit Belk will officiate. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Riceville at 2:30.

She was the daughter of Fred and Minnie Lebow. She graduated from Riceville High School, and taught school after graduating.

She entered the Armed Forces during World War II and served from 1944 to 1946 in France and Germany. After that, she worked in a war plant in New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include one sister, Bernice Wagner of Osage; one brother, Elmer Lebow of Osage; one niece, Vera Mae Leitz; a great-niece, Arlene; a great-nephew, Russell Leitz and James Contino of Des Moines; a great niece, Mary Ann Bethke of Giessen, Germany.
