ADAM MARTH DIES IN CHARLES CITY; RITES TUESDAY

Charles City – Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Hauser Funeral Home with burial in Riverside Cemetery, for Adam Marth, 67. He died Saturday at the Chautauqua Guest Home here.

He had farmed in the Orchard area the last 12 years and previous to that time, had lived south and west of Charles City for many years. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Osage.

Born December 5, 1894, in Eltmannsee, Germany, he was the son of Gebhard and Katherine Marth. He was married to Esther Gauger July 10, 1919 in the Flood Creek Community Church near Rockford.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Gerald, Nashua; three daughters; Mrs. Paul Bedwell; Mrs. Howard McCrea; and Miss Rose Marth, all of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren; two sisters; Mrs. Minnie Spotts; and Mrs. Arnold Plehn, both of Charles City; and a brother, Jacob, in Germany.
