Funeral services were held on Friday, June 21, 1985, at the Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, Iowa, for Gilbert O. Johnson, 97, who died on Tuesday, June 18, 1985. The Rev. E. Franke officiated and burial was in the Deer Creek Lutheran Cemetery in Carpenter.

Gilbert O. Johnson was born on December 2, 1888 in Mitchell County, Iowa, the son of Ole and Marie Gilbertson Johnson. He served in World War I. He was a self employed tiler and lived in the Carpenter area with his wife, Emma.

Gilbert is survived by three nephews, Norris Johnson of St. Ansgar, Irving Juhl of Cedar Falls, and Chalmer Juhl of Hemet, California.
