Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 16, 1985, at First Baptist Church in Osage for Juanita Karwac, 77, who along with her husband, John, operated the Karwac Bakery in Osage for 33 years. She died on Wednesday, March 13 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.
The Rev. W. L. Wilkinson officiated at the service, with burial in the Osage Cemetery.
Mrs. Karwac was born on September 16, 1907 to William and Venus Dawson Cook. She married John Karwac on October 31, 1927 in Osage. She was a member of the Wa Tan Ye Club and First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Mary) Schallock of Orchard; one son, Jerry of Yorktown, Virginia; four grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Vivian Brown of Hartford, Wisconsin, Mrs. Irvin (Roberta) Munkel of Lime Springs, Mrs. Neil (Helen) Moran of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Vern (Adeline) Neber of Dunnellon, Florida; and one brother, Paul Cook of Wayne, Michigan.
