IOWA DEATHS
OSAGE, IOWA -- Funeral rites will be held on Monday at the Champion Funeral Home for Adolph Spaanum, 69, retired farmer, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. He suffered a severe lung congestion, coupled with an asthmatic condition of long standing, with complications. Burial will be in the Osage cemetery.
He was born on November 25, 1885, to Sever and Augusta Spaanum, in Cedar Township, southwest of Osage. Adolph married Sadie Young on December 7, 1915, and the couple continued living on the home farm until they retired to Osage 10 years ago.
Survivors include his widow, three daughters: Mrs. Orland Rossum and Mrs. Edward Viskocil, both of Osage, and Mrs. Orville Talburtt, Louisville, Kentucky; two grandchildren, and a sister, Hattie.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl.
