OSAGE, IOWA - Henry Barenz, 74, Minneapolis, Minnesota, died Friday night at St. Ansgar. He had just reached the home of his sister, Mrs. Dora Schmidt, accompanied by a brother, Charles. The brothers had arrived by bus and walked to the Schmidt home where Henry died within a few mments after arrival. He had suffered from heart trouble for several years. The funeral of his father, George Barenz, 94, was Saturday at McIntire.

Henry was born in Germany, eldest son of Christine and George Barenz, in 1875. At the age of three accompanied his parents to near McIntire. The family resided near McIntire, later at Little Cedar.

He married Louise Bash at Riceville and the couple lived near Riceville for many years, moving to St. Paul and Minneapolis. He had resided the last year with a son, Leland of Brambridge, Minnesota.

He leaves his son Leland; a daughter, Violet, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four brothers: Fred, Riceville; William, McIntire; Willis, Little Cedar; Charles, Minneapolis; and a sister, Mrs. Dora Schmidt, St. Ansgar.

Preceding him were his wife; son, Raymond, who died in March 1949; two sisters, Mrs. Levi Paul and Mrs. Anna Hockens, and two infant brothers.

Body is at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage.
