Riceville – Edward J. Ackerman, 84, died Saturday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage. Funeral services were held Monday at the Methodist Church here. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery with Chisholm Funeral Home in charge.
Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Leonard (Lavina) Banks, Lime Springs; Mrs. Glen (Grace) Danns, Minneapolis; two sons, Martin, Riceville; Glen, Yakima, Wash.; three brothers; George, Walter and Ernest, Waterloo; a sister, Mrs. Nell Bell, Waterloo, five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, a sister and two brothers.
