STEPHEN P. HOEVET

STACYVILLE, IOWA - Stephen P. Hoevet, 60, of Stacyville, died Monday (Nov. 4, 2002) at U.C. Davis Hospital in Sacramento, Calif.

He was born Sept. 26, 1942, in Fairmont, Minn., to Elmer and Ruth (Fulcomer) Hoevet. He was married to Martha (Retterath) Storlie on Oct. 15, 1982, in McIntire.

Steve was a lifelong resident of Southern Minnesota-Northern Iowa. He was employed by Hormel Foods of Austin, Minnesota, where he received many awards and achievements as a research and developer. Steve enjoyed hunting deer and bear, spending time with friends and family, and playing with his cat, Mopsie.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Hoevet of Stacyville; children, Kristina (William) Wolfe of Baltimore, Md., Robert Hoevet of San Diego, Calif., Rebecca Hoevet and special friend, Kurt Scheuerman, of Antelope; step-children, Vickie (James) Krahenbuhl of Mason City, Rick (Amy) Storlie of Osage and Wanda (Phillip) Mueller of Osage; six grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ruth Hoevet, and in-laws, Joe and Effie Retterath.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Austin, Minn., with the Rev. Joseph Fogal officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Worlein Funeral Home, 1801 Northwest Fourth St., Austin, Minn., and will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.

The family prefers memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society.
