Mrs. Peder Larsen, whose maiden name was Laurentine Carlson, was born February 12th, 1850 at Lindelse, Langeland, Denmark. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in her home parish and graduated from Lindelse school.
November 15, 1873, she was married to Peder Larsen at Lindelse, Denmark. This union was blessed with four children, of whom one died in infancy. The three living children are: Charlie Larsen, Hallown, Minn.; Peder M. Larsen and Anna Larsen, both at home, and who with her husband, Peder Larsen, grieve the loss of their mother and wife.
Mr. and Mrs. Larsen came to America in 1880. After spending a year at St. Ansgar and Osage, they bought the farm southwest of Carpenter where they have lived ever after.
Mrs. Larsen died very suddenly of apoplexy, while sleeping early Sunday morning, July 15, 1917.
Mr. and Mrs. Larsen have been members of the Deer Creek congregation for 36 years.
The funeral took place Tuesday, July 17, at the N.L. church at St. Ansgar, Rev. Waldeland officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in the Evergreen cemetery north of town.
