Funeral services for Mrs. George (Lizzie) Schumacher, 87, who died march 14 at the Stacyville Nursing Home, were held Wednesday, March 17, at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with the Reverend Carl Manternach officiating. Burial was at the Visitation Cemetery.

Elizabeth Hackenmiller was born December 26, 1894, in Meyer, to Hurbert Hackenmiller and Catherine (Thome) Hackenmiller. She was a long time cook at Visitation School and started the program there. She was a member of the Visitation Christian Mothers society.

On September 16, 1915, she married George Schumacher in Stacyville.

She is survived by her husband, George; four children, Hubert and Roman, both of Minneapolis, Mrs. Al (Dorothy) Brumm, Rosemount, Minnesota, and Mrs. Gerald (Virgene) Scheer, Osage; Two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Blake, Stacyville, and Sister Virgene, Dubuque; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
