Funeral services for Dale Buttolph of Riceville were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 1997, at the Riceville United Methodist Church in Riceville. Rev. Don Lovejoy and Father John Moser officiated. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery in Riceville with Lindstrom Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

He died Sunday, January 19, 1997, at the Adams Health Care Center in Adams, MN.

Dale Buttolph was born October 15, 1929, in Riceville, the son of Clifton and Irene Hawkins Buttolph.

He was united in marriage to Mary Alice Smith December 28, 1957, at St. John's Rectory in Rochester, MN.

He served in the Army for two years during the Korean Conflict. He was a loader operator for Martin-Marietta until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Keith of Riceville; and Tom of Chester; one daughter, Michelle Lewis of Riceville; three grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd of Madison, WI; and Kenneth of Anchorage, AK; and four sisters, Dorothy Wagner of Waterloo; Delores Henniger of Greensboro, NC; Kathryn Knapp of Washburn; and Betty Koch of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother.
