ELSIE MAMIE (KRAGER) MEYER FRESE 1906-2000

Funeral services were held Tues., Nov. 21, 2000 at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, for Elsie (Meyer) Frese, age 94, of Osage. Rev. Christian F. Gugel officiated with interment in the Osage Cemetery.

Elsie Mamie Krager Meyer Frese was born April 2, 1906 in Battle Township, Ida County near Battle Creek, the daughter of Theodore and Minnie (Paulsen) Krager. When Elsie was 10 years old, the family moved to O'Brien County, Iowa. On Feb. 17, 1926, she was united in marriage to Ernest Jacob Meyer of Paullina at her parent’s home near Hartley.

Three children were born to this family, Cletes, Cleber and Clysta. They farmed near Hartley, Moneta and Spencer. In 1962 they moved to a farm near Osage. Mr. Meyer passed away on Aug. 19, 1965.

Elsie was united in marriage to Herbert Frese on April 2, 1972. They lived in Osage. Mr. Frese passed away on Dec. 27, 1977. Elsie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Faith Circle, Birthday Circle, and Osage Senior Citizens.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two husbands, Ernest Meyer and Herbert Frese; three brothers, Gustav Krager, Edwin Krager and Virgil Krager; three sisters, Esther Crosser, Elfay Matthiesen, Eunice Olin.

Those that survive her include a daughter, Clysta Gealow and her husband, Elmer of Marshalltown and their children, Leon, Lenny and Londa; two sons, Cletes Meyer and wife, Betty of Hartley and their children, Cynthia, Stanley and Russell; Cleber Meyer and his wife, Marlys of Spencer and their children, Dawn, David, Todd and Tara; a sister, Ferel Mitchell of Milford, IA; 18 great-grandchildren.
