ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Ella P. Priem, 101, of St. Ansgar, died Thursday, June 30, at St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Society Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar with the Rev. Dr. Byron Northwick officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 4, from 4-6 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Ella P. Priem, 101, of St. Ansgar, died Thursday (June 30, 2011) at St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Society Center.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, July 4, at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.

Ella was born May 27, 1910, in Worth County near Grafton. She was the daughter of Fred and Lydia (Bruesewitz) Kuntz. Ella was baptized July 3, 1910, by the Rev. J. Landdeck at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton, and confirmed her faith there March 26, 1926. She transferred her church membership to Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar in March of 1933. She graduated from Carpenter High School in 1928, attended Iowa Teachers College and taught rural school for three years.

She married Glenn Priem on July 19, 1931, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They lived in St. Ansgar all their married life. Ella lived independently in her home until April 8, 2010, when she fell and moved to the Good Samaritan Society. Ella enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, flowers and gardening.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Glenn Priem on February 14, 1986; an infant daughter on June 24, 1943; three sisters, Ruth Krueger, Pearl Rosenberg and Ethel Walk; three brothers, Earl Kuntz, Vernon Kuntz and Kermit Kuntz; one sister-in-law, Alice Kuntz; and three brothers-in-law, Albin Krueger, Elmer Rosenberg and Clarence Walk.

Ella is survived by two sisters, Marcella Kuntz of Mason City, and Lois (Clair) Westendorf of Des Moines; one brother, Gene (Arliene) Kuntz of St. Ansgar; two sisters-in-law, Laura Kuntz of Northwood and Harriet Kuntz of Mason City; many nieces and nephews.
