“TED” O’BRIEN, OSAGE BARBER, SUCCUMBS IN HOME AFTER DINNER

Osage --

“Ted” O'Brien died Thursday noon at his home, of heart disease. He had eaten dinner and gone over to the lounge to lie down when he died. He had been in poor health the past two weeks. He had been a resident of Osage the past 35 years and was a barber.

Surviving are his widow and a daughter, Norma Jean, and several brothers and sisters.

CONDUCT RITEDS OF OSAGE MAN
THEODORE O’BRIEN, 60 DIES SUDDENLY FROM HEART DISEASE

Osage – Funeral services were held at 1:30 Saturday afternoon at the Champion Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. T. P. Solem of the Osage Lutheran church for Theodore O’Brien, 60, who died suddenly at his home Thursday noon following a two weeks illness of heart disease.

Born near Forest City, he was married 30 years ago to Sadie Landberg and they had one daughter, Norma Jean. They have lived here all their married life.

Surviving beside the widow and daughter are nine brothers and sisters. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery.

Henry O'Brien 39 living in Osage; Self-employed Barber in Osage; born October 20, 1878; married, nearest relative, wife Sadie S.O. O'Brien.

It is not known whether Theodore was his middle name or his actual first name.

In the Osage cemetery he is listed as Henry, same as his WWI draft registration. In the 1925 Iowa Census, he is listed as Henry and his parents as Henry O’Brien and Bridget McLaughlin. Sadie, his wife list parents of Loth Landberg and Johanna Myerson. In the 1900 Census in Dougherty, Iowa he is boarding with the McLaughlin family and is listed as Henry there too.
