F. GILLIS DIES IN OSAGE HOME
FUNERAL FOR VETERAN BUSINESSMAN TO BE HELD MONDAYOsage, Oct 4 – F. L. Gillis, 70, died suddenly yesterday when he dropped dead in the bathroom at his home on North Seventh Street. He had been in failing health for several years and after 45 years in the grocery business at Dodge Center, Minnesota; and here at Osage for 17 years, sold out to J. W. Drew and retired from active business life.
Mr. Gillis was born June 28, 1860, in Greensboro, Vermont.
He is survived by his widow and for children; Mrs. Ralph Burnham, Osage; Mrs. H. O. Frudden, Charles City; Randall Gillis, Chicago; and Miss Dorothy Gillis, a teacher in the public schools, Evanston, Ill.
The funeral will be held Monday at the Methodist church in charge of the Knights Templar and burial will be here.
