ST. ANSGAR - Steven Alan Thompson, 57, of St. Ansgar died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 24, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, with the Rev. Linda Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 23, from 5-7 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, 207 S. School St., St. Ansgar.
Steven Alan Thompson was born Oct. 14, 1953, to Esther and Orville Thompson at Mercy Hospital, Mason City, Iowa. On Aug. 29, 1975, he married Peggy Polsdofer and together they raised two sons.
Steven enjoyed NASCAR, working on the house and fixing it up, and gardening, and adored his grandchildren. He retired from George A. Hormel on June 14, 2004.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Steven is survived by his wife, Peggy, of St. Ansgar; son, Jason (Abbie) Thompson and their children, Tyler and Katelyn, of Ankeny; son Brian (Samantha) Thompson and their sons, George and Jacob, of Mason City, Iowa; brothers, James (Sheryl) Thompson of Manly and Jeff (Sandy) Thompson of Sheffield; and nephews and niece.
Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, is in charge of arrangements, 641-713-4920.
