Ray Kiefer, 45 (1965-2011)

Ray Kiefer, 45, of Taopi, Minnesota, died Saturday, June 11, 2011, at his home.

Ray was born in Osage, Iowa, on August 1, 1965, to Chuck and Mary Ann (Reinartz) Kiefer. He attended and graduated from Leroy-Ostrander High School in 1983. On June 30, 1990, Ray married Debra Huntley at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams.

Ray worked on the family farm with his dad, brothers, children, nieces and nephews. Ray also worked for several years as a carpenter. Ray enjoyed seeing the world on his Harley. He also enjoyed going to antique Allis-Chalmers tractor shows and having campfires with his family. Ray especially loved taking his kids to their sporting activities.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Tom; grandparents, Floyd and Lucille Kiefer and Aug and Christine Reinartz.

Ray is survived by his wife, Deb Kiefer of Taopi; children, Haley Kiefer of Taopi, Alex Kiefer of Taopi and Nick Kiefer of Taopi; parents, Chuck and Mary Ann Kiefer of Taopi; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Jim Hanson of Albert Lea; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Dan and Annette Kiefer of Taopi, Curt and Jenny Kiefer of Taopi; several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Thomas Loomis officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Taopi. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home Tuesday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
