MITCHELL COUNTY ATTORNEY FOUND ILL BESIDE CAR

OSAGE, IOWA – Loren Brown, 44, Mitchell County attorney, is in critical condition at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital here following a cerebral hemorrhage suffered Monday night.

Brown left Osage alone in his car Monday at 7:20 p.m., to attend a meeting in Charles City. He was found at 9:20 p.m., lying on the ground beside his car in the driveway of the Virgil Counsell farm, four miles east of Osage on Highways 218 and 9. Counsell went out to inveswtigate when he noticed a car parked in his driveway with its lights on.

Mitchell County Sheriff Mervel Angell, called by Counsel, took Brown in to the hospital. He said Brown had apparently attempted to get help at the Counsell home.

Brown is partially paralyzed and suffering from exposure.
