FUNERAL WEDNESDAY FOR RICEVILLE WOMAN
Osage – Funeral services for Mrs. Walter Hall, 85, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home, with burial in the Osage Cemetery. She died late Monday at the home of her niece, Mrs. Roy Henderson, at Riceville.
Mrs. Hall was born Mary Murphy, daughter of James and Sally Murphy, at New Haven August 24, 1865. She came with her parents to Osage in 1885.
In 1895 she was married to Walter Hall. They built the Osage greenhouse and lived here until 1914 when they moved to Waterloo, returning to Riceville in 1938. Her husband died at Riceville that year.
The only survivor is a brother, Dr. Harry Murphy, at Long Beach, California. She was one of a family of 14.

According to the 1925 Iowa Census, she was the daughter of James Murphy and Sally Judd. She married Walter Stanton Hall, the son of Stanton and Ellen (Allison) Hall.
