Anna Start, daughter of John Start and Christina Forthun, was born in Dane county, Wisconsin, on December 17, 1863.
While still in infancy, her parents moved to Mitchell county, Iowa, residing in the vicinity of Bailey. Some years later they moved to LeRoy, Minnesota. She later made her home with the parents of her future husband, attending the parochial school of Toeterville Lutheran church.
She was married to William Langrock in May 1883. The couple made their home in Union township. Mr. Langrock died in 1906.
She ran the farm home alone until her marriage in 1914 to Charles Duenow.
In 1928 the couple retired to Toeterville, where they resided until the time of her death.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Duenow; two brothers, John Start and Isiah Start, both of LeRoy, Minnesota; and seven foster children.
Mrs. Duenow died on Friday, August 10, 1945, at the age of 81 years an dseven months. Funeral services were held at her home and in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran church, the Rev. H. Paum officiating. Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery.
