OSAGE DIES ON COAST

Joseph Brush, 66, a former resident of Osage, died on June 27, 1945, at his home in Graton, California, following an illness of two years.

Joseph Moreland Brush was born in Osage on January 17, 1881, the oldest son of Avery and Dell Moreland Brush. He finished high school and attended Cornell College at Mt. Vernon for two years. He then worked as assistant cashier at the old Osage National Bank.

In 1905, at the time of the San Francisco easrthquake, he went to Santa Rosa, Calif., and worked with his uncle. He remained for about five years, and then managed a fruit canning factory.

In 1920 Brush married, and in 1937 he retired from active business, but continued to reside in Graton.

He had visited in Osage several times since he left here forty years ago.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sarah E. Brush; two sisters, Mrs. Karl Johnson and Mrs. Laura Spaanum, and one brother, Birchard Brush, all of Osage.

Private funeral services were conducted June 29 from the chapel of the O'Leary Funeral Home in Sebastopol, California.
