S. Sgt Heinz Timmerman, 26, son of Henry Timmerman of Rochester, Minnesota, was killed June 7, 1945, at Claiborne, Louisiana, where he had been in service for the past several months.

Sergeant Timmerman attended the Riceville school from which he was graduated in 1929. He was interested in athletics, in which he made a good record. After graduation he worked at the Kahler hotel in Rochester, Minnesota.

He was a member of the Minnesota National Guard and was inducted into the armed services in January, 1942. He had service on ships bringing prisoners of war back to the United States. He also guarded prisoners in Missouri before being stationed at Louisiana.

In February 1942 he married Margaret Enfield of Riceville. She had been with him at Louisiana until a month before his death.

Heinz Timmerman is survived by his wife, father, and stepmother, one sister, two grandmothers and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Martz Funeral Home at LeRoy, Minnesota. The American Legion of LeRoy, had charge of the services at LeRoy, and the committal services at the Osage Cemetery.
