ANN KLUENDER

FRESNO, CALIFORNIA - Ann Kluender, 90, of Fresno, Calif. and formerly of Osage, Iowa, died on Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at her home in Fresno.

Ann was born on October 8, 1911 in Ackley, Iowa. She was the first daughter of Harm and Alberdine (Daniels) Eggena. She attended schools in Rockford and Germany.

She was united in marriage to Vernon Kluender on Nov. 5, 1940. They lived in Waterloo for a year and in 1941, they returned to farming in the Germantown, Aurelia, Rockford, and Thornton areas and later farmed near Osage for 12 years where she also worked at Scott's 5 & 10 in Osage. In 1964, Ann and Vern moved to California.

Her funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, south of Osage, with the Rev. Christian F. Gugel officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. on Friday at the Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.

She is survived by two sons, Daryl Kluender, of Orchard, and Gary Kluender Sr. and his wife, Mary Ann, of Osage; three grandchildren, Gary Kluender Jr., of Osage, Vernon Kluender, of Mason City, and Kathleen Kluender, of Sheffield; two great-grandchildren, Brett Kluender and Arianna Kluender, of Osage; two sisters-in-law, Irene Eggena, of Mason City, and Gertrude Eggena, of Charles City; one stepbrother, Bill Litchen, of Mason City; two half sisters, Helen Siefkin, of Osage, and Mae Thompson, of Denver, Colo.; and one half brother, Harm Eggena Jr., of Rockford.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon; three brothers, three stepbrothers, and one stepsister.
