Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 2 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton for Anna Koehler, who passed away Tuesday, February 28 at the Cresco Care Center at the age of 94. Burial was in the Grafton Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Anna Flatla was born August 15, 1889 on a far in Rock Township in Mitchell County, the daughter of Borger and Kjersti Hvattum Flatla.
She was united in marriage to John W. Koehler on May 24, 1911.
She made her home the past 10 years at the Cresco Care Center, previous to that she lived on a farm southeast of Grafton and later in Grafton before moving to Cresco in March 1974.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Mildren) Bork of Cresco; two sons, Floyd of Cranston, Rhode Island and Harley of Madison, Wisconsin; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one step great-granchild and a brother, Sigurd Flatla of Vista, California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one grandchild, three sisters and two brothers.

#2:Anna Borgersdatter Flatla was born August 15, 1889 at Rock township, Mitchell County, Iowa to Borger Olsen Flatla and Kjersti Hovelsdatter Hvattum, the youngest of their six children. Her older siblings were: Randi, Ole, Randi Maria, Hovel, and Anna.
Anna was baptized on September 29, 1889 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Her baptismal sponsors were: Mr and Mrs Borger Rossum; Ludvig Dynna and Lina Dynna.

Anna married John W. Koehler, son of Mary & Gottleib Koehler of Grafton, Iowa, on May 24, 1911; the couple had 3 children.
Found in the 1925, 1930 censuses living at Union, Worth, IA:
1925: John Kochler 37, Anna Kochler 35, Meldred Kochler 10, Harley Kochler 6, Flay L Kochler 3.1930: John Koehler 42, Anna Koehler 40, Mildred Koehler 15, Harley Koehler 11, Floyd Koehler 8.
Anna died February 28, 1984 at Cresco, Howard, Iowa and was buried at the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Grafton, Worth, Iowa.
