Ida Frances (Kramer) Meyerhofer 1894-1959

MRS. MEYERHOFER RITES MONDAY AT STACYVILLE

STACYVILLE -- Funeral services were held at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville Monday morning for Mrs. John Meyerhofer. She died Friday morning at her home after a lingering illness. She had suffered a stroke three weeks before her death. The Rev. Joseph W. Bohr officiated the funeral high Mass and was in charge of burial services in the Visitation Cemetery.

Ida Frances Kramer was born to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kramer, July 23, 1894. June 9, 1914, she was married to John Meyerhofer at the Sacred Heart Church, Meyer, Iowa. They farmed northeast of Stacyville until their retirement in 1952 when they moved to Stacyville.

Thirteen children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Meyerhofer. Two died in infancy. Surviving are her husband John and 11 children: Mrs. William (Martha) Beland, Wilfred, Mrs. Albert (Dolores) Van Feldt, Austin; Ambrose, Mason City; Clem, Mrs. Eugene (Genevieve) Bassler, Maquoketa; Sr. M. (Mary Virginia) Borgia O.S.F. of Oyens, Iowa; La Verne, Stewartville; Marcellus, Racine, Wis.; Sr. M. (Verna) Nona O.S.F., Bancroft and St. M. (Vera) Nila O.S.F., Dubuque; and 52 grandchildren.
Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Hubert Puettmann and two brothers, Ray and Ruben.
