#2: (Bio)

Hale E. Huson was born March 3, 1896, in Grayslake, Illinois to Aaron R. and Alice (Lewis) Huson. He had one brother, Lewis, and three sisters, Blanche (Mrs. Albert Morse) Bernice, and Ruth (Mrs. Ray Nirderer). His mother died when Hale was two years old. For the next seven years he lived in Garnett, Kansas with his Aunt Adelia, and other relatives in Louisiana and the Chicago area. When his sister, Blanche (Mrs. Albert Morse) married, she specified to her husband-to-be, Albert Morse, that her little brother would have a home with her. Albert consented to this request. So, in 1905 Hale came to live on the Morse farm just east of Osage. He graduated from Osage High School and attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City for two years. He was in the Army for two years during World War I. Following his discharge, he was a mail carrier in Osage.

In 1927, he married Sadie Reynolds at Harmony, Minnesota. Their wedding was the first wedding in the new Methodist Church in Harmony. They lived in Osage and Milford during the first months of their marriage, and then moved to Sioux City, Iowa. Hale worked at the main post office in Sioux City.

To this union two children were born, Richard H. and Marian A. (Mrs. Alvin Daniel Mesenbrink).

In 1948, the family moved to Maywood, Illinois, as Hale accepted a transfer to the post office at Hines Veteran's Hospital. He was employed there until he passed away in February 1949.
