FATAL ACCIDENT
A sad accident occurred at the home of Daniel Lombard in Cedar township Tuesday evening. A son of about 15 years of age was shooting sparrows with a 22 caliber rifle when in some way the gun was discharged and the ball struck his sister, Maud, who was standing on the porch, and killed her almost instantly.
The family are in the deepest grief and the brother is so overcome with grief and dazed that he can hardly tell whether the gun was accidentally discharged or whether it was a glancing ball that wrought the deadly blow.
The accident would seem bad under any circumstances, but it was only last July that death entered this same home, taking the wife and mother which makes the blow doubly hard to endure.
The funeral services will be held at the home this afternoon at 1 o'clock.

NOTE: Maud Lombard was the daughter of Daniel Lombard and Margaret Clark Lombard.
