LAST RITES AT OSAGE FOR FORMER RESIDENT
Osage – Committal services will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery Wednesday for a former resident, John Wolf, 76, who died Saturday night at Waterloo. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Church at Waterloo.

He was born in Illinois to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wolf and was married to Mary Miller at Hokah, Minnesota. They lived at Britt, then in Minnesota, and later at Stacyville and owned stores at Little Cedar and Bucktown in Mitchell county. They went to Waterloo in 1929.

Survivors include two sons, Charles of Waterloo and Maurice of Independence and a daughter, Mrs. Leon Keegan, of California; 3 brothers, Martin and Will of Osage and Charles of Grand Rapids, Minn., and a sister, Miss Christina Wolf of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

FUNERAL SERVICES HELD AT
WATERLOO FOR JOHN A. WOLF

John A. Wolf, 76, died at his home in Waterloo Saturday evening, November 18, after an illness of several years. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning in Waterloo. Burial was made in the Sacred Heart cemetery at Osage with the Rev. Father T. J. Conroy officiating.

John Wolf was born April 25, 1874, to Joseph and Christina Apfel Wolf in Lostant, Illinois. When he was a small child he went with his parents to Kansas where they lived for about 15 years. Then he returned to Illinois and was employed on farms.

In 1906 he married Mary Miller of Hokah, Ill. [Minn]. They came to Mitchell county in 1908 and lived in Stacyville where Mr. Wolf Worked for Joe Falk in a grocery store. Later he owned a store at Little Cedar which he operated for 10 years. He was manager of a grocery, grain and coal store at Bucktown for four years before moving to Waterloo about 21 years ago. In Waterloo he worked for the Walnut Court apartment store (just apartments not a store) as caretaker.

Four children were born to the couple - Charles, now in Waterloo; Francis in California; Maurice, now working in the state hospital at Independence; and a daughter who died in infancy. Other surviving relatives are his wife, two brothers, Martin and William of Osage; a brother and sister, Charles and Christina Wolf of Grand Rapids, Minnesota; nephews, William and Henry Wolf of Streator, Illinois; and eight grandchildren.
