Funeral services for Mrs. Lula A. Loomis, 82, who died at her home in St. Ansgar Tuesday, May 11, 1965 were held Friday morning, May 14 at the First Lutheran church in St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Don Comnick officiating.

Burial was at the Glenwood cemetery in Glenwood, Minn. Friday afternoon, with the Rev. John L. Spencer in charge of the committal services.

Lula A. Loomis was born September 22, 1882 at Lyle, Minn., the daughter of Bernard and Annie (Golberg) Olson. After the death of her father when she was three years old, her mother and she moved to St. Ansgar. She was baptized and confirmed by the Rev. Johann Olsen at the First Lutheran church in St. Ansgar.

After attending St. Ansgar public school and the Seminary, she attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. for two years, and then studied music in Minneapolis for one year. She taught music in Enderlin, N.D. until her marriage in St. Ansgar February 2, 1905 to Henry F. Loomis.

Mr. and Mrs. Loomis lived in North Dakota for a few years and in 1913 moved to Glenwood, Minn. Following the death of her husband in 1939, Mrs. Loomis remainded in Glenwood for twelve years and in 1951 returned to St. Ansgar to make her home.

Survivors include her daughter, Bernice, Mrs. Eugene Lehman of Chatfield, Minn.; a brother, Dr. A.W. Thompson, St. Petersburg, Fla. and two sisters, Mrs. Elling (Nellie) Torblaa of St. Ansgar and Mrs. Harry (Belva) Mills of Laguana Beach, Calif.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her father and husband, by her mother, step-father and a brother.
