Rev. Edgar August Brammer was born January 8, 1915 at St. Ansgar, Iowa, the youngest son of Reverend Paul and Clara (Dornseif) Brammer. He died October 29, 1996 at Cedar Falls, Iowa. Burial at Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Falls, Iowa.

He was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the class of 1928.

He entered Concordia Academy in St. Paul, Minnesota, in the fall of 1928, and was graduated from Concordia College, St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1934.

He entered Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, in the fall of 1934, graduating in 1937. His vicarage was spent at St. James Lutheran, Quincy, Illinois. While serving as the first Lutheran campus pastor at the University of Florida, he established a mission in Gainsville, Florida, and also a Congregation at Ocala, Florida.

In 1942 he accepted a call to establish campus ministry at Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, Iowa.

He married Elsa Margery Carlen on March 4, 1943 and they were the parents of Richard, Robert and Ronald.
