Notes on Peter Eagen:
Peter Eagen is listed in the 1900 Census as 26 years old and born May 1874 in Iowa; living in Des Moines, working as a coal miner and boarding there.
In 1915 he is 39 (abt 1876) living in Mason City; occupation dealer
In the WWI Draft Registration, September 12, 1918; he is 42; machinist; born July 27, 1876 and living in Mason City, nearest relative, wife Catherine;
In 1920 he is still in Mason City, age 44 (abt 1876) and an automobile dealer

In 1930 he is in Minneapolis, Minnesota age 49 (abt 1879) mechanic in auto garage; with wife Katherine 37.
The closest date that agrees with any part of his obit is the month in his draft registration and the month in the obit.

The spellings vary in the St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, New Haven, Mitchell from Eagen to Egan, but they appear to be the same family. His mother, father and some of his siblings are buried there.
There’s a listing for Peter Egan…1873-1953 that I believe to be Peter Eagen, son of Joseph and Catherine (Riordan) Egan but am not positive about the BD listed here either.
There is no listing in the Sacred Heart Cemetery for Peter Egan or Eagen, so I believe the obit to be in error on his birth date and burial place. The parents and brothers named in his obit are the same as the Census records and places he lived.
