Emma L. Knoll Dies at 78;
Rites FridayST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Emma L. Knoll, 78, who was found dead in her home here Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. Donald Hamilton will officiate in the First Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery with Schroeder & Houg Funeral Home in charge.
Born in Leeds, Wis. she had lived on a farm south east of St. Ansgar until she and her husband retired.
Her husband, William Knoll, died in 1945. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Gladys) Rieck, Grafton.

EMMA KNOLL RITES AT FIRST LUTHERAN
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma L. Knoll, 79, who died at her home in St. Ansgar Tuesday, September 29, 1959, were held Friday, October 2 at the First Lutheran church with the Rev. Don Hamilton officiating.
Emma Louise Ulrika Krueger was born at Leeds, Wis., March 26, 1881. Her parents were Henry and Ulrika (Falk) Krueger. She was baptized shortly after birth.
In 1885 she came with her folks to Iowa and they settled on a farm southeast of St. Ansgar. She was confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran church in St. Ansgar March 20, 1898 by the Rev. Drexler.
December 18, 1906 she was united in marriage to William Knoll of Freeport, Illinois. One daughter, Gladys, was born to them. They lived on a farm southeast of St. Ansgar where she had lived since coming to St. Ansgar. In May of 1924 they moved to St. Ansgar where she lived the rest of her life. Mr. Knoll died February 22, 1945.
Mrs. Knoll had been under a doctor's care for several years. She died of a heart attack at the age of 78 years, six months and three days. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters and one brother. She is survived by her daughter, Gladys, (Mrs. Elmer Rieck) of Grafton.
Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Hamilton in charge of the committal services.
