EMIL A. KIRCHGATTER FUNERAL HELD AT FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH
Funeral services for Emil A. Kirchgatter, 68, of Carpenter, who died May 15, 1967 at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center were held May 18 at First Lutheran church with the Rev. Don Comnick officiating.
Emil (Ole) August Kirchgatter was born September 20, 1898 at Corwith, the son of Ida and August Kirchgatter. He was baptized at Corwith October 27, 1898 and confirmed at the Grafton Lutheran church. He received his education at Grafton public school.
He suffered a stroke March 28 at his home and was hospitalized at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital for four weeks. Later he was moved to the Good Samaritan Center where he resided the past three weeks.
Mr. Kirchgatter worked as a foreman at the Decker Packing Plant in Mason City during his younger days. He was employed at the Carpenter Elevator for several years. The last 15 years, unitl his retirement in 1962, he was employed by L.R. Falk Construction Co.
His marriage to Mabel Gillerman took place February 17, 1927 at Grafton. He is survived by his wife, Mabel; two sons, Leland, St. Ansgar and Donald of Richmond, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. James (Shirley) Brock of St. Ansgar; six grandchildren, Kirk and Yvette Kirchgatter, Richmond, Calif.; Scott and Mark Kirchgatter of St. Ansgar; Lisa and Jeffrey Brock, St. Ansgar; and one sister, Mrs. Emma Runge of Nora Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Frank, Leo and Bill Kirchgatter.
Burial was in Carpenter cemetery, Newburg township, with the Rev. Comnick in charge of the committal services.
