MRS. S.A. KLEINWORT FUNERAL HELD FIRST LUTHERAN

Funeral services for Mrs. Sherwin A. Kleinwort, 76, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital, July 17, 1970 were held at the First Lutheran church here, Monday, July 20.

A family prayer service was conducted at Schroeder and Houg Funeral Home the previous evening. The Rev. William Kamke of Toeterville officiated. Burial was in the family plot in the Carpenter cemetery.

Irma Virginia Lubiens was born in St. Ansgar May 23, 1894, the daughter of Robert C. Lubiens and Alice Delaney Lubiens. She attended elementary and high school in St. Ansgar. She completed two years at the University of Minnesota, majoring in Home Economics.

On February 4, 1915 she and Sherwin A. Kleinwort, St. Ansgar, were married at the Lubiens family home. Their first home was on a farm near Carpenter where their four children were born; Mrs. Otto H. (Irma) Tesch, Mrs. Oliver A. (Shirley) Fossey, and Robert of St. Ansgar; Mrs. Gladys Bowles, Athens, Ga.

In 1930 the Kleinworts moved to their home near the old St. Ansgar Mill on the Cedar river where Irma helped her husband in many aspects of the work of the mill and farm.

Mrs. Kleinwort had 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

In 1965 the Kleinworts celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

Irma was an avid reader all her life with interest ranging from classics to newspapers and novels. This hobby continued through Talking Books after she lost central vision. She traveled extensively and other hobbies included fishing and boating.

Mrs. Kleinwort recently became a member of the First Lutheran church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Lubiens, a sister, Naomi

Surivors in addition to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren include cousins in St. Ansgar, Lyle, Osage and in distant states.
