HENRY POPP,
OSAGE, DIES

Funeral Services
to Be Held Monday at
Sacred Heart Church

OSAGE, IOWA — Henry Popp, 85, for many years a resident of the Osage territory, died early Saturday at his home here following a long illness.

Mr. Popp was born in Germany and came to this country as a young man. He married Magdalene** Holve 60 years ago and they farmed in this vicinity until they retired.

Mrs. Popp and seven children survive. The children are: Orvin of Rockwell; John Popp, Mrs. Robin Pelleymonter, Mrs Annie Meitner, and Miss Elizabeth Popp, all of of Osage; Mrs. Eda Meitner of Watertown, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Rose Ginder of Floyd.

Funeral services will be held Monday at the Sacred Heart Church, with Father Fitzgerald in charge. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery.

[Mason City Globe Gazette, Saturday, October 25, 1941]

NOTES:
He is buried at Sacred Heart Cemetery, southeast of Osage.

**His wife is listed on the tombstone as Katherine, so the obit was possibly wrong when it says her name was Magdalene.

It is also believed that her maiden name was Hovel, not Holve.
