Mrs. Belle Nelson
Former Osage Girl
Died Last SundayMrs. Frank C. Chatman has received word of the death of a relative, Mrs. Belle Nelson, who passed away in Kansas City, at the home of the deceased's daughter, Mrs. Graham Asher, where she had made her home for several years.
The remains were brought to St. Ansgar, and funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Norwegian Lutheran Church, conducted by the Reverend Kleven, of Northwood, and burial was made in the St. Ansgar** Cemetery. Mrs. Nelson was at one time a member of the Reverend Kleven's congregation at Northwood.
The Nelsons lived in Osage, on North Seventh Street, more than thirty years ago.
Surviving are her three children: Mrs. Asher, Kansas City, Nuell, of St. Paul, and Joy (a son), of Chicago; a sister, Miss Lena Torgerson, who had been at Kansas City assisting in Mrs. Nelson's care, and a brother, Theodore, of Northwood.
Perhaps some of the older residents will recall the deceased's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nels Torgerson, who lived for many years north of St. Ansgar. Both passed away many years ago.
