Father Frein of
Webster City Dies
Webhter City, Iowa — Father F. I. Frein, 56, of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic church here, died last night in a Fort Dodge hospital following a major operation.
Father Frein was a chaplain in World War I and had served as state chaplain of the American Legion and of the Elks.
Funeral services will be held Monday.

Stacyville,Iowa — Rev. Fr. Fritz Frien, 56, at a Fort Dodge hospital after a major operation.
He was born on a farm near Stacyville in 1888, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Frien.
He leaves his mother; four brothers and four sisters: Matt, McIntire; Ed, St. Anthony; Henry, Stacyville; Joe, Osage; Mrs. Jess Wilson, Garner; Mrs. Rudy Kasel, Marshalltown; Mrs. Will Jordan, Anamosa, and Mrs. Art Wolf, Stacyville.
Father Frien has been pastor of Webster City Catholic church the last eight years; prior to that he served at St. Anthony for 13 years; served as army chaplain in World War I in overseas duty; he later served as state chaplain of the American Legion.
A memorial mass will be held at Webster City Tuesday morning and the body will then be brought to Stacyville where mass will be said at 10 o'clock; it will be a military funeral; burial in Stacyville [Visitation] Cemetery.
