Death of Miss Mary Marley
Passed Away Last Thursday After a
Stroke of Paralysis-- Burial at
New Haven SaturdayMary Teresa Marley was born in Watertown, Wisconsin, December 10, 1854, and died in Osage on November 1, 1923, afer a stroke of paralysis. She with her parents moved to Mitchell county in 1868 and located on a farm near Brownville. In 1910 they moved to Osage, where she resided up to the time of her death. Her life has been an exemplary one. During the brief illness which preceded her death, she bore all her troubles with christian fortitude and resignation, always grateful for the care and attention that was bestowed upon her.
Words cannot do justice to a character so unimpeachable. She always greeted everyone with a glad welcome and was never happier than when assisting those in need or sickness. The high esteem in which she was held was shown by the host of friends and relatives that accompanied her remains to their last resting place.
She leaves to mourn her loss one brother, David of New Haven; one sister, Ellen of Branson, Missouri, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Marley, with whom she resided.
The funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Church in Osage last Saturday and interment was made in the New Haven cemetery. May all her cares be laid aside, and trusting in the Lord, we leave her to God's mercy, and her eternal reward.
