BROWNVILLE.
Our little town, though pleasant with its industrious inhabitants of kind hearted people, is not without its troubles and sorrows. We are very sorry to announce the death of Mrs. Viola E. Taylor, aged 32 years, 9 months and 10 days, beloved wife of Joseph Taylor, and daughter of Benjamin and Mrs. Judd, of this town.
She died on Tuesday, December 4th, of heart disease with which she has been troubled for some time. Words cannot express her loving kindness as a wife and mother, and always kind and friendly to all, her kind disposition and religious ways made her dear to all who knew her. She was not afraid to meet her God; she seemed rather to wish to die than to live to suffer. Three days before her death she wished to see her family. All that were near came, and she wished them good by one by one, in soft loving tones of affection.
It must have been very trying to those who witnessed her good-by to husband and three bright little boys, the youngest only three months old. Deprived of such a mother's love and affection, left to the care of their father, who feels his loss deeply, the little pet will be cared for by his grandmother, Judd, and the other will be well cared for. Everything was done that doctors' skill and willing hands could do to save her precious life,
"But God above knew it was best
To take her home, and give her rest."
The funeral took place on Friday. Mr. McIntosh conducted the services and preached a very fitting sermon, taking for his text the 14th chapter of St. John, 18th verse-"I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you." The choir sang very softly and sweetly, while even the organ seemed to know the solemnity of the occasion. Most of the people seemed to feel it was good to be there, for they were much affected. The funeral, which was very large, was conducted by Mr. Fullerton.
The Writer in behalf of Mr. Taylor and the Judd family, wishes to thank the many kind friends who took such an active part in time of trouble, for true it is, "Friends in need are friends indeed."
