DONALD DYKEMAN

MABEL, MINNESOTA – Funeral services will be held Wednesday for Donald Dykeman, 42, who died Saturday morning after he was stricken with a heart attack at his farm home east of Hesper, Iowa.

Dykeman was chairman of the board of trustees of the Hesper Lutheran Church and a former member of the Hesper Board of Education.

He was born June 21, 1911, in Floyd County, Iowa, and on June 1, 1934, married the former Palma Peterson of Mabel who survives.

Other survivors include two children, Loren and Kathleen, at home; and two sisters, Mrs. Bert (Verna) Johnson and Mrs. Elsie Slener, both of Waterloo, Iowa. A son, Warren died previously.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Hesper Lutheran Church, the Rev. P. C. Hiller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

NOTES:

Donald Dykeman was born June 21, 1911, the son of Loren M. Dykeman and Bertha Ann (Dorow) Dykeman. His parents are both buried in the Osage Cemetery, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa.

The son, Warren, mentioned in the obit was born in 1938 in Osage and died in 1939.
