Died Last Friday
After Short IllnessMrs. Ingvald Dahler, better known here as Dolly Champion,died at the home of her brother, Frank Champion, at 12:30 Friday noon, after an acute illness of about three weeks, from heart disease
and other trouble.She was 58 years of age, born here in Osage in October, 1881, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Champion. Although she was named "Augusta" family and her friends had always called her Dolly. She spent her girlhood in the local schools.
Completing her business training she held various positions of trust and was for a number of years secretary at the Eitel hospital at Minneapolis. Following her father's death she came to Osage to be with her mother,and tenderly cared for her during her last years.
At that time Mrs. Dahler accepted the position of secretary to the last Frank Annis. She was a beautiful penman and was called upon many times when exacting pen work was required.
Mrs. Dahler was a charter member of the Osage Wa-Tan-Ye club and for a number of years was a valuable and much-liked member. She was the first treasurer of the local organization.
Her marriage to Ingvald Dahler took place Feb. 20, 1934, and she has spent much of the time traveling with him. She was at Marshalltown, however, prior to coming to Osage.
She is survived by her husband; her sister, Mrs. John Christianson,of Charles City, and her brothers, Frank, Osage, and Ben Champion of Marble Rock.
Funeral service was held Monday afternoon at the Champion funeral home and burial made in the Osage cemetery. Mrs. J. H. Baker read the Christian Science service.
Relatives from away at the funeral included her stepchildren, Gladys Dahler,of Minneapolis, Tenny Dahler, a soldier at Fort Snelling, and Mrs. Roy Zan Zott, of Fergus Falls, Minn., as were the members of the deceased family, including her brother, Ben, and family of Marble Rock, Mrs. John Christianson and family of Charles City.
